This project's aim was to produce a 'Proof of concept' prototype for the end client. The product was a Content Management application capable of capturing Video and audio and digitising it in a number of formats to which meta-data could then be attached. Once digitised, it could be retrieved and manipulated easily.

Regular reporting to the end client was important as the deadline of 3 months for a working prototype and the £1m budget were fixed. Risks and Issues were monitored closely where they impinged on the delivery deadline and were resolved by the Project Board. The deadline was achieved, within budget.

The end product required that the development work of 10 partner organisations was specified and coordinated. Configuration Management was key here as any deviation from the agreed specifications by one partner could have implications for the rest of the project. HCL worked closely with the Technical Architect to maintain the currency of the technical specifications and plans.
