This role required that a business review be conducted of the IS Development function for the client. The organisation had expanded considerably over the previous year from 14 channels to 200+ and the focus was upon ensuring that the IS development needs of the operation were being met by the department.

HCL first established the portfolio of projects under development and created a Resource Management and Skills Matrix database. This showed

the projects with the associated resources. This enabled better planning of resource allocation and allowed managers to identify staff in other areas who were free with skills they required, which had not previously been possible.
