Description of assignment:

HCL was appointed to manage the completion of implementation of the membership system. This project had been running for a number of years without being fully finished and the system was held in low regard by users, many of whom had developed bespoke databases to avoid using it.

We appointed Super-Users drawn from operational areas and elicited their views as to what functionality would make the system useful to them. We then worked with the Vendor to develop the necessary functionality.  This involved formal requests for changes to the system, proper testing of new releases and formal release dates.

The improved controls allowed us to work with the client staff to introduce them to the benefits of the system. The Super-Users were used as change agents to encourage uptake of the system and also to eliminate users' bespoke databases.

HCL also worked on the client's Surveys project. The client conducts and distributes a number of influential surveys. Following an analysis of the opportunities for improving the outputs, HCL assembled a user group and worked with an external contractor to develop the user requirement specifications. These were then developed, tested and implemented.
